πŸŽ₯ Section Recordings, This Website, and TimeStamps

Schedule: (Spring 2024) πŸ“…

  1. Saturdays, 12:30 - 2:30 PM eastern time (ET) Starting Feb 10
  2. Mondays, 7:30 - 9:30 PM eastern time (ET) Starting Jan 29

The two sections cover different material, with Monday sections building on Saturday sections.

  • Saturday sections provide a more comprehensive overview of the most important new ideas from Tuesday’s lecture.
  • Monday sections focus on student questions and β€œmop up” any remaining topics. They may be short if there are few student questions.

If there is a problem set:

  • I encourage you to attempt to finish the problem set between the two sections. Saturday will be designed to give you the most important tools you’ll need for the problem set, and Monday will focus on questions that come up as you are working. If you get stuck with a problem, email questions to robmgmte2700@gmail.com, ideally by Monday morning.

Participating live and watching recordings

All section meetings are recorded. To participate in live sections or watch recorded sections, visit πŸ”Ž Watching Lectures and Sections.

General Information

  • Email office hours questions to robmgmte2700@gmail.com
  • If possible, please bring pencil, paper, and a calculator or spreadsheet app. Practice problems are vital because you may think you understand something, but you never know for sure until you’ve tried it with your own hand. Watching someone else do practice problems is about as effective as watching someone else do physical exercise πŸ’ͺ.
  • We only have sections when there is new material to cover (not before the first lecture, after exams, or during vacation weeks). Click hereπŸ”— to join section or to watch a recording.

Using this website with sections

First and foremost, this website is just a way of sharing quick notes and documents from my live sections. I use icons to indicate the following materials we use during sections:

βœ… = Section agenda
πŸ™‹ = Office hours questions
✏ = Practice problems
❔ = Frequently Asked Questions
πŸ”Ž = Deep dives
βœ” = TimeStamps when we cover problem set solutions (see below)

Visit πŸ”Ž Getting Oriented to see how to find these resources. To watch recorded sections, go to our Canvas siteπŸ”— and click Zoom in the sidebar to get to Gather. In Gather, click on β€œPublished Recordings.” For more information or to participate live, check out the β€œWatching Lectures and Sections” page of this site.

The site you are currently viewing is meant to be a companion to the section recordings. It contains digital whiteboards and notes from every section during the entire semester. As I type and draw on the digital blackboard, it appears on this website within about 30 seconds.

You can always reach it website by navigating to robmunger.com/2700 on any device. You don’t need any special software to view it - just a regular web browser. Like with any other web page, you can screenshot diagrams or copy text into your personal notes if you like. You can also print out the pages from your web browser (email me if a page doesn’t print well).

If you have any other questions, just ask! You can reach me at robmgmte2700@gmail.com.
