How does this course compare to a Principles of Finance course like e2000?

Paradoxically, because it is more advanced, it may also be easier. Let me explain…

First, because you have already learned the core “Principles,” we can focus on applications, which tend to be easier to learn. There will be fewer deep ideas 🤯 and more details of applications. Like with any Bruce Watson course, the focus will still be on the big ideas and principles, of course, because those principles are timeless and allow you to think critically.

Secondly, because you have already taken a principles course, you have more experience with the process of learning. This means that you can learn more effectively if you take a more proactive role in your learning, identifying your areas of weakness and asking questions. As always, I am 100% here for you and will adapt to whatever learning style you want to bring to the table. And I always stay until the last question is answered! I just think you’ll find that sections may be shorter and will depend more on your questions.

No.

We will use some basic ideas from 3 financial statements, but we will focus on corporate finance applications rather than accounting guidelines and rules.
