❔ Thanks for sharing the median and mean for mid term. Do you mind sharing 60 percentile score for mid term? Basically, if mid term were to be graded alone per the grading policy what’s the cut off for A?

✔ If there is a target grade that you are hoping for, I would aim to get the semester score that would be required according to the absolute scale in the syllabus. This is not only the general advice that I give, but I also looked up the grade distribution from last year and all of the 69 students except 2 got the grade that they would have gotten based on the absolute scale. In other words, the curve didn’t give a boost to any students except for two.

(As you may know, the curve can’t lower your grade because he calculates your grade two ways and takes the higher number. However, it doesn’t always provide any benefit.)
